Car Rental Canberra Airport (CBR)

• Consider a city pickup to dodge the airport fee. Grabbing your car in the city centre can save you over 10% by skipping the airport surcharge. You'll just need to catch a quick bus or rideshare from the terminal.
• Book a full week if you can. The weekly rate often costs less than paying for just 5 or 6 days. Also, booking ahead for peak times in Canberra, like Floriade, can lock in a better price.
• Don't rent more car than you need. A small, zippy car is perfect and cheaper for getting around Canberra's easy-to-navigate streets. Save the bigger rides for long-haul trips.
• Fill up the tank yourself before returning. There are petrol stations on Majura Road, just five minutes from the airport terminal, which is way cheaper than letting the rental company do it.
