Car Rental Griffith Airport (GFF)

• Book in advance, seriously. Griffith is a small airport with a limited number of cars. Booking a month or two ahead isn't just for a better price, it helps make sure you get a car at all, especially during the busy harvest season (February to April).
• Check prices for city depots. You can sometimes save a few bucks by picking up your car in Griffith town instead of right at the airport. Just remember to factor in the cost of a short taxi ride.
• Dodge the peak seasons. Car rental prices can jump during harvest time and local wine festivals. If your travel dates are flexible, you might find better deals in May-June or September-November.
• Make it a weekly thing. If you're renting for four days or more, compare the total price against the weekly rate. Sometimes booking for a full 7 days can be cheaper than booking for 4 or 5.
• Fill 'er up before you return it. There are fuel stations on Wakaden Street on the way back to the airport. Topping up the tank yourself is always way cheaper than letting the rental company do it for you.
