• Compare pickup locations. Grabbing your car in Emerald township can be cheaper than at the airport because you skip the airport fees. Just factor in the taxi fare to get to the depot.
• Don't overdo it on the car. Most roads are sealed, so a standard 2WD is perfectly fine for trips to the Gemfields or Carnarvon Gorge. No need to splurge on a bigger vehicle.
