Road Genius makes it easy to find great car rental deals at Boise Airport (BOI). Compare rates and make bookings in one place. Simple. All the big names like Hertz, Avis and Enterprise have desks inside the terminal, so you can stroll from baggage claim to your car and be on I-84 or in downtown Boise in under 15 minutes.
All rental car counters are located on the first floor of the terminal in the baggage claim area. After collecting your luggage, you'll find the rental desks just steps away. The car pickup area is next to the terminal, requiring no shuttles – simply walk to your vehicle after completing the paperwork.
A Consolidated Rent-A-Car center is currently under construction to expand capacity and improve the rental experience.

On average, car rentals at Boise Airport cost around $72 per day, with the lowest-priced rentals starting at $36 per day.
Compare airport vs city pickup: BOI tacks on an 11 % concession fee + $6/day CFC. If you're hanging in downtown first, a $20 rideshare to an off-airport branch can slash $100-$200 on a week-long rental.
Tweak your dates: Boise's rates spike Friday–Sunday in summer. Shifting pickup/return to a Tuesday or Wednesday often drops the daily price and shortens the rental by a day.
Right-size the car: Boise streets and parking spots are compact-friendly. Renting an economy over an SUV can save $15-$30 per day and you'll burn less gas on those short Vista Ave runs.
Join the free loyalty lanes: Programs like Emerald Club or Gold Desk let you skip the midday lines and sometimes unlock member-only promos—handy when BOI gets busy after the 12-3 pm flight dump.
Rent a car so you can visit:

Is there a gas station right at the airport?
The airport doesn't have a gas station on its property, but a Maverik is located about 0.5 miles from the terminal on Airport Way. This is the most convenient place to get gas before you return the car.
How early should I arrive to return my rental car?
You should plan to arrive at least 1.5 to 2 hours before your flight departs. Returning the car usually takes 15–20 minutes, and then you have a short walk to the terminal.
Can I change my vehicle type upon arrival if I see something I prefer?
Yes, as long as we have other cars available. Our airport locations usually have the biggest choice of cars, so you can often upgrade or change to a different car type. Just know this may change the price you pay.
Are there any restrictions on where I can drive a rental car from BOI?
Most cars you rent from BOI Airport give you unlimited mileage for driving in Idaho and nearby states. If you plan to drive to Canada, you may need extra paperwork. We do not allow off-road driving unless you rent a vehicle made for it.
What happens if my arriving flight is delayed late at night?
We usually watch for flight arrival times and will stay open if your flight is late. However, if your flight is delayed by more than 2 hours, you should call your rental company to make sure someone will wait for you.
Can I return my rental to a different location?
Yes, most companies let you return the car to a different location. This usually costs an extra fee between $50 and $300. The final price depends on the distance between the two places.
