The average spending per visitor was calculated by dividing New York City's direct visitor spending ($55.6 billion)³ by the number of visitors (65.0 million) reported for 2025.

The Port Authority's airports, led by JFK, Newark Liberty and LaGuardia, handled 142.7 million passengers in 2025. That was 2.3% fewer than in 2024, but still the third-busiest year on record⁶.

• JFK served 62.6 million passengers in 2025, including 34.5 million on international flights⁶.
• Newark Liberty served 47.0 million passengers, 4.1% fewer than in 2024 as runway construction and FAA flight limits cut schedules. A record 15.4 million of them flew internationally⁶.
