What’s the cheapest way to get fuel? Should I prepay?
The cheapest is usually refueling yourself and returning the car full. Prepaying can work if you know that you’ll use it all up. The most expensive option is not to prepay and not to refuel on return. In those cases you’ll be charged for missing fuel at a fairly high rate.
Many highways, such as the Florida Turnpike and parts of I-4, have tolls. You can pay with cash at most booths, but E-PASS or SunPass are convenient electronic options, often offering discounted rates.
Parking is challenging downtown, especially during events. While there are several public garages and lots, they fill up quickly. Use a parking app for real-time availability and rates.
Public transportation is limited. Lynx buses serve the region, but routes may not cover all tourist areas conveniently. Renting a car is often more practical for exploring.
Consider the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive for views and wildlife. Day trips to the Kennedy Space Center or Space Coast beaches are also great options.
Arrive early to avoid traffic and get closer parking. Use theme park shuttles from nearby hotels to save on parking fees. Parking lots are large, so note your section.
In Florida, you can turn right on red after stopping, unless posted otherwise. Be vigilant for pedestrians and cyclists, especially in tourist areas. 🌴
Popular beaches like Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach have public parking, but they fill up quickly on weekends and holidays. Arrive early or use hotel shuttles for convenience.
