Driving Rules
- Buy the electronic vignette (motorway pass) before using any motorway. Cameras check your licence plate.
- Speed limits are 130 km/h on motorways, 90 km/h on main roads and 50 km/h in towns.
- The legal blood-alcohol limit is 0.0%. Police perform random roadside tests.
- Use dipped headlights at all times, day and night.
- Winter tyres are required 1 Nov–31 Mar when snow or ice is likely. Mountain passes may also require chains.
- Village streets can narrow to 3 m or less. Take care with wide vehicles.
- Prague, Brno and other cities have blue resident zones. Street parking overnight usually results in fines.
- Most fuel stations accept cards and are open 24 hours. Diesel is labelled "Nafta", unleaded petrol is "Natural 95".

Services for Campervans
- Many OMV and MOL motorway stations provide fresh water taps and cassette toilet dump for a small fee.
- Kaufland and Globus supermarkets on city edges allow large vehicles. You can combine food shopping with fuel stops.
- Public campervan service points are listed on vodacke-sluzby.cz. They charge for grey water and black water disposal.
Important Information
- Dial 112 for any emergency. Operators speak English.
- By law each vehicle must carry a reflective vest for every passenger, a warning triangle and a first-aid kit.
- Campsites enforce quiet hours 22:00–06:00. Authorities can issue fines immediately.
- Summer hailstorms can damage roofs. Cover skylights or find shelter when forecasts warn "kroupy" (hail).
- Tap water is safe to drink unless a tap is marked "Nevhodná k pití" (not for drinking).
- Check road works and flood alerts on dopravniinfo.cz before long drives.
