Road Genius compares campervan rentals from several Paris depots, helping travellers pick the right vehicle to explore France and beyond. Paris is a common starting point for routes to Normandy, the Loire Valley and the Alps. Note that the city operates a low-emission zone that requires a Crit'Air sticker on the windscreen.

Driving in the Area
- Many coastal and mountain roads are under 3 m wide with frequent sharp turns. Plan extra time and use low gears.
- General speed limits are 50 km/h in towns, 80–90 km/h on rural roads and 110 km/h on expressways unless signs show different limits.
- There are no toll roads on the island.
- Petrol, diesel and LPG are available but stations in the interior may close at night. Fill the tank before driving long distances in the mountains.
- Ferries treat propane gas bottles as dangerous cargo. Declare them at check-in to avoid delays.
- Mobile phone coverage is poor in the Alta Rocca and Niolu valleys. Download offline maps before travelling.
- From November to April, police can require snow chains on mountain passes above 1,000 m.
