Is it worth having a car in Oxford city centre?
We don't recommend bringing a car just to explore Oxford itself. The city centre has road restrictions, not much parking and high parking fees. It's much easier to get around the city using public transport, walking or cycling.
What is the Oxford Zero Emission Zone (ZEZ)?
The ZEZ is a small area in the middle of Oxford. If you drive a car that isn't electric in this area, you have to pay a daily charge of £4-20. Cameras monitor the zone and you need to pay the charge online within 6 days.
Can I park at my hotel in Oxford?
Many hotels in central Oxford have very little parking or none at all. You should always check with the hotel about parking and any fees before you book. Some hotels can give you a discount at a public car park nearby.
