Across Texas, public charging stations are usually located near hotels, restaurants, campuses, and other entertainment amenities.

Some common EV Charging stations are:

• Hotel Emma (Tesla Destination Charging) — 136 E Grayson St, San Antonio, TX 78215³. Two 16 kW Tesla Destination chargers in the hotel's valet garage; charging is complimentary with valet service⁴.
• Texas A&M University Lot 47 DC Fast Charger — 387 Polo Rd, College Station, TX 77840⁵. Eight EVGateway DC fast (CCS) stalls delivering up to 120 kW⁶, open to the public around the clock⁷, with no permit needed and a 90-minute maximum session⁶.
• San Antonio Zoo Parking Garage (Blink) — 151 Tuleta Dr, San Antonio, TX 78212⁸. Four Level 2 (J1772) Blink chargers on level 2 of the garage, open 24 hours⁹.

Charging at home is the cheapest option. Texas households paid an average of 15.94 cents per kWh for electricity in June 2026¹⁰, so a full charge of a 54 kWh battery (about 200 miles of range) costs roughly $8.60, and every 100 miles driven costs about $4.30 for an EV that uses 27 kWh per 100 miles¹¹.

Public charging costs more, and there is no single per-kWh price in Texas: each network prices its stations individually. On the big fast-charging networks (Electrify America, EVgo, Tesla) you pay per kWh, with the live price shown in the app or on the charger before you start charging¹². Electrify America drivers who join its Pass+ plan save about 25% on charging. Level 2 chargers are cheaper, and some are free.
