• 20 July 1970: A Hawker Siddeley HS-125-3B (G-AXPS) crashed during takeoff from Turnhouse on a positioning flight to Newcastle. The copilot died, the pilot survived. This was due to incorrect rudder input after a simulated engine failure.
• 3 May 1975: A De Havilland Moth Minor (G-AFOZ) crashed during a low-level display. One of the two occupants died the next day.
• 27 February 2001: Loganair Flight 670A, a Shorts 360 (G-BNMT), crashed into the Firth of Forth shortly after takeoff to Belfast. Both crew members died. The casue was engine failure due to slush ingestion after heavy snowfall.
