Speed limits are 130 km/h (81 mph) on motorways, 90 km/h (56 mph) on main roads and 50 km/h (31 mph) in towns. Campervans over 3.5 tonnes are often limited to 100 km/h.
A1 motorway tolls use tickets. You can pay with Croatian kuna, euro coins, credit card or the ENC electronic tag sold at larger toll plazas.
The D8 coastal road passes through the Neum corridor (Bosnia and Herzegovina). You must carry passports and the vehicle insurance Green Card for border checks.
Parking of vehicles over 5 metres is prohibited inside Dubrovnik's old walled city. Use Park+Ride parking lots and city buses instead.

Winter bora wind can exceed 100 km/h (62 mph). Park with the front of your vehicle facing into the wind and avoid high bridges during weather warnings.
The coastal D8 road is narrow with sharp curves. Large tour buses use this road daily, so stay on the right side and plan overtaking carefully.
Overnight street parking is prohibited between 01:00–05:00 in Dubrovnik. Fines start at 100 euros.
