Volkswagen, a German car manufacturer, is one of the world’s largest automotive groups and Europe’s largest carmaker. It is part of the wider Volkswagen Group, which owns or manages several major automotive brands, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Škoda, SEAT/CUPRA, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania, and MAN. In 2025, the group delivered about 8.68 million passenger cars and light commercial vehicles worldwide.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars delivered around 4.73 million vehicles worldwide in 2025.

• Volkswagen delivered 6.28 million vehicles in 2019, before volumes fell to around 5.34 million in 2020.
• Deliveries declined further to 4.90 million in 2021 and 4.56 million in 2022.
• The brand recovered to around 4.87 million deliveries in 2023, then dipped to around 4.80 million in 2024.
• Deliveries edged down again to around 4.73 million in 2025, about 1.4% below the prior year.

Volkswagen delivered approximately 382,000 all-electric vehicles worldwide in 2025, equal to 8.1% of total brand deliveries.

• Volkswagen’s all-electric deliveries were nearly stable, declining by just 0.2% from 2024.
• Based on total brand deliveries of around 4.73 million, non-BEV deliveries were approximately 4.35 million in 2025.
• Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) made up 8.1% of Volkswagen’s total deliveries, while non-BEV vehicles accounted for about 91.9%.
• The ID.7 helped drive growth in the ID. family in Europe, with around 76,600 European deliveries and about 35,000 German deliveries in 2025.

Note: Non-BEV deliveries are calculated by subtracting all-electric deliveries from total Volkswagen brand deliveries. Non-BEV deliveries include internal combustion, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
