• Cargo operations grew explosively into 2021, reaching 157,089 tonnes, then edged up further to a peak of 158,131 tonnes in 2022 before moderating to 136,135 tonnes in 2023.

• On November 15, 2005, a Jetport Gulfstream 100 overran Runway 12 while landing at Hamilton in wet conditions. The aircraft traveled beyond the runway end and sustained substantial damage, but neither pilot was injured.
• On February 19, 2008, a Cargojet Boeing 727 operating a cargo flight from Montréal–Mirabel to Hamilton struck trees during a go-around on approach to Runway 30. The aircraft later landed safely at Hamilton. The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) reported substantial damage to the aircraft, with no injuries.
• On July 22, 2008, a Kelowna Flightcraft Boeing 727 cargo aircraft touched down hard and bounced while landing at Hamilton. A go-around was initiated after a second hard touchdown, during which the tailskid contacted the runway. The aircraft returned for a normal landing, with no injuries and minor damage.

• YHM has two asphalt runways. Its primary runway, Runway 12/30, is 10,006 feet long, while Runway 06/24 is 6,010 feet long and serves as a secondary runway.
