• May 2023 runway-project fatality: In May 2023, a construction worker was fatally injured during work connected to YQR's Runway 13/31 rehabilitation project, which Regina Airport Authority later described as a CAD$26.7 million pavement overlay and upgrade³.
• July 2022 Cessna 150 training occurrence: A Cessna 150 C-GSWM was involved in a July 26, 2022 training occurrence at Regina International Airport during a Power Pilot Training Course contracted to the Regina Flying Club. The aircraft sustained very serious damage, and the pilot was not injured⁴.
• September 2024 emergency exercise: On September 10, 2024, Regina Airport Authority and airport partners held a full-scale emergency exercise involving more than 150 people, simulating an aircraft accident near the main runway and an emergency at the terminal to test airport and partner emergency-response plans⁵.

• The airport operates two runways: the primary Runway 13/31 at 7,901 feet and secondary Runway 08/26 at 6,200 feet.
• YQR first achieved Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 1 in 2018 and was promoted to ACA Level 2 in March 2025. The airport targets a 30% reduction in carbon emissions from its 2016 baseline by 2030⁶.
