Located about 5 kilometers west of downtown Bangor, Maine, Bangor International Airport is the primary gateway for central, eastern and northern Maine as well as nearby Canadian communities. The airfield sits on the former Dow Air Force Base, functions as a joint civil-military facility, spans 2,079 acres, and operates a single 11,440-foot runway.
