• July 1978: Allegheny Airlines Flight 453, a BAC 1-11, overran the departure end of Runway 28 after landing at Monroe County Airport. All 73 passengers and 4 crew members survived, and the NTSB report stated that one passenger was seriously injured.¹
• February 2012: A United Express flight from Chicago, reported as United Flight 3350 and operated by Trans States Airlines, skidded off the runway at Rochester shortly after 11:30 p.m. No injuries were reported among those on board, and the FAA investigated the incident.²
• September 2014: A private Socata TBM 700 departed ROC for Naples, Florida, and later experienced a pressurization-system failure. The pilot and passenger became unresponsive, and the aircraft continued until it crashed into the Caribbean Sea northeast of Jamaica. Rochester developer Larry Glazer and his wife, Jane, were identified as the two fatalities.³
• June 2020: A private 737 DHL cargo aircraft operated by affiliate Kalitta Air exited primary Runway 4-22 onto the grass near the intersection with Runway 10-28 while preparing for takeoff. The airport said two pilots were on board and no injuries were reported.⁴
• January 2024: American Eagle Flight 5811, operated by Piedmont Airlines, landed safely at ROC but exited a taxiway while traveling to the terminal in snowy airfield conditions. The Embraer E-145 had 50 passengers and 3 crewmembers aboard; no injuries were reported. The main runway was shut down for several hours and later reopened.⁵
