The strongest verified DMM peak-day data point is June 13, 2024, when the airport surpassed 50,000 passengers and handled 374 flights.

Official safety notifications verify a July 18, 2024 serious incident involving Nile Air flight NP232 at Dammam, with 186 passengers and 8 crew on board and no passenger injuries reported.

• The Aviation Investigation Bureau (AIB) notification, based on information from Saudi authorities, describes an aborted takeoff on runway 34L due to fire on the left main landing gear.
• Nile Air said flight NP232 from Dammam to Cairo aborted takeoff because of overheated wheel brakes.
• Nile Air reported no passenger injuries.
