Boise Airport (BOI) lies about 3 miles south of downtown Boise, Idaho. It opened in 1936 and covers roughly 5,000 acres. The facility supports both civilian and military operations, making it Idaho's busiest airport by a wide margin. It processes more passengers than all other Idaho airports combined.

Boise Airport handled 5.23 million total passengers in 2025, its fourth consecutive annual passenger record.

• From 2014 through 2018, passenger traffic rose from 2.75 million to 3.87 million, building a steady pre-pandemic growth base.

• On 9 December 1996, a Douglas DC-3C cargo aircraft operated by Desert Air Transport was destroyed after loss of control while attempting to return for an emergency landing at Boise Air Terminal.

• On 31 January 2024, a privately owned hangar under construction collapsed on the Boise Airport airfield near W. Rickenbacker St. and Luke St.
