- However, when the pandemic struck in 2020, international visitor numbers dropped to 508,167 and domestic visitor count fell to 998,149.
- Despite the emergence of a new COVID variant in 2021, domestic tourism rebounded with 3.25 million visitors, while international tourism remained low, with only 76,026 tourists.
